Around 5:30 Thursday May 2nd Engine 333, 323, 313, 353, Engine 18 and rescue 338 responded to a structure fire in the 1700 block of Lake Vista. Upon arrival crews found heavy fire coming from the structure. A second alarm was struck which added additional Engines and Chiefs from Baton Rouge Fire and East Side Fire. After about an hour the fire was deemed under control. An investigator was called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. One firefighter was treated for heat related injuries, no other injuries were reported. Huge thanks to Baton Rouge Fire, East Side Fire for responding and Zachary Fire Department for covering an empty Central station. EMS and EBR Sheriff's Office also responded.
